Master of Science (M.Sc) in Nursing is an two Years program. It has four specialty namely Paediatric Nursing; Psychiatric Nursing; Obstetric and Gynaecological Nursing; Community Health Nursing and Medical Surgical Nursing. Medical Surgical Nursing includes Critical Care Nursing, Cardiothoracic Nursing, Neurology Nursing, Nephrology and Urology Nursing and Orthopaedic and Rehabiliation Nursing. Eligibility to this program is candidates should have passed B.Sc., Nursing Course and Registered in State Nursing Council.
Every Nursing students will be assigned 4 to 5 hours of clinical work daily during their academic courses. This will added advantage to have good nursing skills and exposed to various departments in PGIMER.
Foreign Students are eligible to apply for Nursing Courses:
Foreign students are eligible for this nursing courses but they need to route their application through Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India. They need to obtain eligibility certificate from the Registrar, PGIMER, Chandigarh and Clearance Certificate from the Indian Nursing Council and submit along with their application.
Procedure for Joining Nursing Courses in PGIMER
Candidates are selected based on entrance examination conducted every year. The admission notice will appear in some of the leading newspapers after 20th April every year. After the appearance of notice, candidates can obtain the application form from Principal Office, National Institute. Entrance examination will be held on August, every year for B.Sc and Post Basic B.Sc. courses and for M.Sc of Nursing, it will be in the month of June. The Course starts in the month of July for M.Sc Nursing and first week of September for B.Sc. Nursing Courses.
After entrance examination, candidates are selected for counseling and must deposit the course fee immediately after counseling.

For M.Sc., course, fee is around 2500 per annum and caution or refund deposit will be Rs. 10,000.
For Post Basic (B.Sc.) Course is around 2500 per annum and caution or refund deposit will be Rs. 5000.
For B.Sc., course, fee is around 2500 per annum and caution or refund deposit will be Rs. 5000.
Hostel Fee : Rs. 3500 per annum + 1500 (hostel security one time refundable)
