Age (17) for General Categories and age limit is relaxed by a period of five years belonging to SC/ST

Qualifying Examination - Senior 4 School Certificate Examination conducted by CBSE/Council of the Indian School Certificate Examination (12years course) from a recognized school or an examination recognized as equivalent to, with 50% or more marks in the aggregate of 4 subjects including English (Core/Elective), Physics, Chemistry and Biology provided the student has passed in each subject separately.

Basis of Selection

The Selection of the candidates for admission to B. Sc. (Hons.) Nursing Course will be made on basis of the merit in the Entrance test. All candidates irrespective of their category have to appear for the Entrance test.
 

Entrance Test

The Entrance Test will be of two hours thirty minutes (2½ hours) duration and shall contain objective type (Multiple Choice) items. The test will be based on Senior School Certificate (10+2) curriculum of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and shall also include some items on English Comprehension & vocabulary and General Health.

Eligibility and Method of Selection

M.Sc., Nursing                          

Candidates should have passed B.Sc., Nursing and have secured 60% marks for General/OBC candidates and for SC and ST candidates 55% of marks required to apply for admission. They should have 4 years B.Sc., nursing course (Hons)/ B.Sc., Nursing (Post certificate)/Post Basic/B.Sc., Nursing from any recognized University or educational institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. Candidates need to be register as Nurse Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife (RN, RM) from any state council. Candidates, who are due to appear at the qualifying examination or have already appeared and are awaiting result, can also apply for admission but at the time of joining they need produce degree certificates and show Registered Nurse Certificates from Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council. Selected candidates need show proof of recognition of their colleges at the time of verification of their documents.

B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing

Candidates should be Indian Citizen and has attained or will attain the age of 17 as on December during admission. Candidates need to pass 12th class examination under 10+2 system or students awaiting for results can apply, such candidates need to show proof of passing qualifying examination during joining B.Sc. (Hons.) nursing course. They need to have 55% of mark for Gen/OBC and 50% for SC and STs Categories.

B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic)

Candidates should pass qualifying examination 10 +2 system of education from recognized Board/University (candidates who passed 10 +1 on or before 1986 are also eligible).

Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery from any institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council

They should be registered as Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife from any state nursing council. In case of male nurse, along with registered nurse, they need to have training in Midwifery and training for 6 months in any of the following subjects

Entrance Examination and Procedure for Selection

Admission will be entirely on entrance examination; those who have passed entrance for join the nursing course. For PG courses, candidate needs to have cut off 50 percentile in the competitive entrance examination.

M.Sc. Nursing

For M.Sc. Nursing courses, questions will be of 90 minutes duration and contain 90 multiple choice questions (MCQs) for 90 marks.

 

Counseling

Merit candidates called for counseling and can select various subjects based on their rank and according to the availability of seats.

Candidates with equal mark, selections will be based on less negative marks at the entrance examination and candidates older age will be preferred.

Entrance Test

Entrance test will be conducted in English language only.

 

B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing

Entrance for B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing will be conducted in following cities – Patna, Raipur, Delhi, Trivananthapuram, Mumbai, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Chennai, Dehradun and Kolkata. Only female candidates will be eligible.

Candidates have one paper for duration of 2 hours and consisting of four parts containing objective type (Multiple Choice) questions.

Part A – Physics – 30 Marks

Part B – Chemistry – 30 Marks

Part C – Biology – 30 Marks

Part D – General Knowledge – 10 marks.

Total – 100 Marks.

Questions will be based on 10+2 education and there is no prescribed syllabus by AIIMS.

Candidates who obtain equal marks, selections will be based on

1. Higher marks in Biology in entrance examination

2. Higher marks in Chemistry in entrance examination

3. Higher marks in Physics in entrance examination

4. Candidates with older age will be preferred.

 

B.Sc. (Post Basic) Nursing

The examination will be held in Delhi only and test will be in English language only.

The test will be conducted in two stage. Stage 1: Written test and Stage 2: Personal Assessment/Interview

Written test will be of 90 minutes of one paper containing 70 objective type questions (Multiple Choice) in the subjects of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmocology, Obstetrics Nursing and Midwifery, Paediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Professional Trends in Nursing.

 

Personal assessment will be based on past academic attained in 10+2/Higher Secondary, nursing examination and performance as staff nurse.

SCHEME OF MARKING:

There will be negative marking for wrong answers in entrance examination for all the couses. Each correct response will get a score of +1 mark. Each incorrect response will get a score of -1/3. No credit will be given for the question not answered or MARKED FOR REVIEW unless Saved. More than one response will be negatively marked. Zero mark will be given for questions not answered.
