What is ECHS?

ECHS is Ex-Serviceman Contributory Health Scheme comes under department of ESW, Ministry of Defense, and Government of India. For retired medical personnel, ministry of defense organized scheme called ECHS which helps retired armed forces to get proper medical facilities. Nurses have good future after joining in ECHS.

There are five types of ECHS polyclinics i.e. Type A, B, C, D, E and F.

Where ECHS is located?


There are several regional centre located all over India. They are Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Ambala, Bangalore, Bareilly, Chandimandir, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hissar, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Jammu, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi – I (West), Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Trivandrum, Vishakhapatnam and Nepal.

What are the benefits of Joining in ECHS?

You have bright prospects after joining ECHS. You have special preference to join in Government jobs as well as in Indian Military Services. You can climb up higher position in government sector or any sector in India and abroad.

What is the position will be given for Nurses?

Nurses will be assigned as Nursing Assistant position in ESHS hospital. Salary will be around Rs. 22,500 per month.

What is the basic qualification to join as Nursing Assistant?

You should have DMN, Dip/Class I NAC Armed forces.

What is the experience required to join ECHS?

You should have five years of experience as nurses in hospital.

Is it contract job?

Yes, it is contract job for two years. After two years, work will be extended.
